GEKKO Junior G3
The GEKKO Junior G3 is a robot specially designed for cleaning photovoltaic panels. Our mobile robot works with every type of solar panel, even super thin panels without frames are no problem for it.

Why clean panels?
Despite different affirmations do photovoltaic panels need regular cleaning to keep working on peak performance. Cleaning by natural means like rain and snow are not sufficient. Panels get dirty due to dust, moss, lichen, bird droppings and emissions of commercial establishments.
It is very important that there is no dirt on photovoltaic panels because with todays construction of panels only a single photovoltaic cell needs to be damaged to considerably reduce the output of the whole panel. - Reference: Abstract about efficency losses by Dr. H. Häberlin.
Photovoltaic panels should only be cleaned with demineralised water, otherwise will calk stains may stain on the panel.
Appropriate cleaning
An elaborate cleaning system makes for an ideal end result. The surface are cleaned with demineralised water and a rotating brush that was specially developed for the GEKKO Junior G3.
To prevent any damage to the photovoltaic panels is the brush made of special, light materials. The bristles are aligned in a way to push the dirt to the outside. Furthermore are they so closely together that only a minimal amount of water is needed.
Part of the supply unit is a water filter system that demineralises water, because of this no stains or sports are left on the panel. In the case of a very severe pollution can a biodegradable cleaning detergent be added.
